We are delighted to share the news that AGN Member Firm Dafferns has initiated two new promotions within its leadership team. Congratulations to David Halkett, who has been promoted to Director, and to Lucy Hatton, who has been promoted to Partner.
David Halkett – Business Services Director
David joined Dafferns in 2014 as a manager in our corporate team, before promotion to senior manager and has become a key part of the leadership of the corporate team. His promotion from 1 July 2024 to Business Services Director will see him take on a mixed role as part of our long term leadership team succession plan.
David will head up our Business Services team, linking together the small business, payroll, outsourcing and business services teams, offering our full range of accounts, tax, advisory and outsourcing services to small and medium sized businesses.
Later this year he will also become the audit RI (the Responsible Individual who signs off the audit report) on many of the corporate audit clients for whom he has been the senior manager.
Lucy Hatton – Corporate and International Partner
Lucy has been with Dafferns since 2017 and joined the Leadership team as a Director and Audit RI in 2021. From 1 July 2024, we are delighted to announce that Lucy has been promoted to Partner, which further reinforces her position within the corporate and international teams and also her role as staff and training Partner.
Lucy is very well connected within AGN International, our international association of separate independent audit, accounting, advisory and tax firms and has for the last two years been a member of the AGN International shadow board, advising and supporting the main international board.
Talent development with a problem solving advisory mindset
Dafferns have made a huge commitment to invest in talent development for senior team members and as part of this, both David and Lucy have benefited from working one to one with an external business coach for the last few years.
Lucy and David are part of Dafferns’ Mindshop advisor team, using tools and diagnostics to solve problems and develop strategic plans, both within the firm and with clients, working with a Mindshop coach towards their Adviser accreditation.
International connectionsy
Both David and Lucy are graduates of AGN International’s next leaders programme, Lucy in 22/23 and David in 23/24. Next leaders is a year long programme facilitated by AGN to connect, train and mentor senior managers and directors of AGN member firms across Europe to prepare them for future roles as leaders of and partners in their firms.
