Addictive Leadership Workshop: AGN Member Exclusive
6 hrs CPE/CPD in Specialized Knowledge – Group Based Live
Program Level: Basic
The accounting industry is undergoing rapid change and disruption, creating an urgent need for managers and partners to embrace the “Uncomfortable Work” of driving accountability, delegating more effectively, and doubling down on business development.
If you’re like most, you know what needs to be done. The problem isn’t a lack of hard work or intelligence—it’s the avoidance of actions we know are necessary but resist due to discomfort—”Uncomfortable Work”. Sound familiar?
- Avoiding difficult conversations with staff, clients, and peers
- Working “below your level” by doing work that should be delegated
- Avoiding holding others accountable for performance and providing necessary feedback
- Blaming external factors while neglecting leadership actions within your control
In Addictive Leadership’s immersive one-day training, you’ll learn a 6-Step Process for identifying and doing “Uncomfortable Work” at scale. You will walk out with an action plan for freeing 359+ hours annually and custom scripts for difficult conversations.
Learning Objectives
- Identify the lower-value tasks, projects, and patterns that are not the best use of your time, and reclaim that time for your highest-value work
- Overcome the “fear” that keeps you from having difficult conversations (e.g., delegating effectively, holding staff accountable, and resetting client expectations)
- Learn to have difficult conversations in a way that is heard, respected, and celebrated
- Establish a culture of shared accountability, where everyone is working “at their level” and prioritizing their highest-value activities
- Leave with a 30-day action plan for doing your “Uncomfortable Work”
Following the training, you’ll have gained more capacity for your highest-priority work, found a deeper confidence regarding difficult conversations with peers, staff, and clients, and contribute to higher utilization, realization, and top-line growth at your firm.

“In the first six months, the program helped us each redirect 250 hours toward our highest-value activities. And, I’ve had more difficult conversations in the last year than I have in my entire career.”
– Heidi LaMarca, CEO and Managing Partner at Windham Brannon
