About this Workshop
Whether you’re new to serving not-for-profit organizations or simply looking for a refresher, this two-part series provides a practical introduction to the unique accounting, tax, and auditing considerations facing the nonprofit sector.

Designed for staff with limited not-for-profit experience, the program will build a foundation in the key concepts needed to understand nonprofit financial reporting, compliance requirements, and audit engagements. Participants will explore how not-for-profit organizations differ from for-profit entities, gain insight into Form 990 reporting, and learn the fundamentals of risk assessment in a nonprofit audit. The second session will focus on two of the most common and complex accounting areas encountered in practice—investments and contributions.

Through real-world examples and discussions led by experienced practitioners, attendees will leave with a stronger understanding of the nonprofit environment and greater confidence when working on not-for-profit clients.
