Firm Growth in a Post Covid World

Growth in CPA firms pre-COVID has been dynamic. The combination of staffing shortages, new tax laws and a robust economy created a supply of work that just kept coming in. Firms did not have to aggressively sell and as a result many firms have less advanced business development programs with a large number of their professionals who have minimal sales skills. Opportunities to grow exist through new prospect development, consulting with existing clients and the acquisition or merger of another CPA firm. The challenge is how does a firm rapidly develop the skills and strategy to implement these efforts.

Bob Lewis

Bob Lewis is the Founder and President of The Visionary Group. Visionary is comprised of a team of professionals specifically dedicated to CPA firm growth, alignment, and strategy. Bob has watched the CPA profession evolve over the last two decades. His initial focus was on developing and implementing organic growth activities for firms which has expanded to realigning their vision, conducting custom M&A searches, and helping firms create a sales culture and business development mindset.

Bob and his team get tactical and deeply involved with direct prospecting, referral partner development, professional staff & partner training, client mining, and developing next gen leaders inside CPA firms. In addition, Visionary developed the Enterprise Assessment. The Enterprise Assessment is custom software to help CPAs increase consulting and sales skills.
Education & Contact. Bob has a Bachelor of Science in Finance, and a Master of Business Administration Degree both from DePaul University in Chicago. Prior experience includes developing and managing the budgets, as well as running the accounting department for the Midwest Region of a Fortune 38 corporation.
