Is consolidation different this time around?
The one thing that pretty much all senior partners of accountancy firms can agree on–across the world – is that they are facing a recruitment challenge, that there is a dearth of high-quality accountancy professionals, and the impacts of technology are ever-increasing.
On 9 – 11 June, seventy-nine delegates and eleven companions enjoyed a mixed programme of valuable business-related content, team-building exercises and fun social activities, emphasising the importance of connecting face-to-face.
The CSRD, which is expected to be adopted in the next few weeks, will probably lead to one of the largest market interventions by the European Union in the external reporting of companies in recent decades.
The European Commission (EC) justifies this regulatory market intervention with the fact that the quality and comparability of the previous non-financial statement according to the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) is not sufficient.

On 6 – 7 May 2022, AGN members in the West Asia & Africa (WAA) region met in Dubai for the AGN International Business Workshop.
The workshop allowed members to reconnect with AGN contacts in person, meet new faces and forge stronger relationships with some key European members, and discuss how to strengthen cross-border business opportunities.

AGN member firm BKL in London, UK, announce their merger with FSPG Chartered Accountants. FSPG, also based in London, have a strong heritage with over 75 years of experience. FSPG’s team are moving into BKL’s office, which completed a major refurbishment in 2020. BKL, in combining with FSPG, have become a team of over 200 people including 20 partners.
