Forty-five years ago this month, four public accounting firms based in the U.S. decided to get together with the plan to form a collaboration and placed an ad in the September 1977 Journal of Accountancy seeking like-minded firms. This action was the first public announcement and beginning of “The Continental Association of CPA Firms” (CACPA) – the organization you now know as AGN. In the coming year, we will be celebrating this achievement with you. Keep an eye out for more details!

Many countries around the world recognize a day in early August as International Friendship Day, a time to celebrate the value of peaceful friendships. The origins of this holiday go back to 1930. It was first proposed by the World Friendship Crusade in 1958 and adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2011.

It may be more obvious to recognize July as the month for major national holidays in Canada and the U.S. Still, we’d like to take a moment to honor the lesser-known celebration of the seventh month of the year – National Ice Cream Month!

Why ice cream? With so many flavors, combinations, and textures, there is something for everyone.
