Connection – North America Newsletter #52 I September 2023

AGN 2022 North America Regional Meeting
September 4, 2023

A new month, a new school year, a new season begins, and so it goes for AGN too.

Please join us in welcoming April Ince to the AGN North America staff. April joined the team in August and works remotely from her hometown of Bradenton, FL. Her responsibilities will be focused on the administrative side of things – helping answer questions related to AGN invoices and payments for your firm’s accounting team, supporting AGN events, and bringing value to your organizations through management of the AGN Resource Partner program.

Technology Roundtable

LAST CALL! Quarterly Technology Roundtable, exclusively for members of Global Connect International

We have been told by firms that they are looking for a place to dive into focused technology areas: sharing their challenges, learning from peers and being informed on newer developments taking place in the industry. Along with DFK and MSi, or Global Connect partners, we are excited to offer this series of facilitated sessions to fill that need in an informative and interactive format.

Each quarterly 90-minute virtual roundtable will include an opening focused on emphasis on evolving trends and issues for that session’s topic, 60 minutes of interactive conversation on challenges and opportunities attendees are working on (or have on their radar) and will conclude with a 15-minute recap on conversation, suggested action items and recommendations on overcoming obstacles.

We recommend that two people attend per firm. Note that this does not require the same two people for each session. Firms are encouraged to send someone from their IT Team as well as an operational leader in the firm over the topic being discussed.

The $300 registration cost covers all attendees from the firm for ALL four sessions.
Limited space available, register this week!

Session Details

Investing in Others’ Success: Intentionally Designed Working Relationships
Brian Kush, Intend2Lead

Our working relationships really matter. They affect our workload, stress, and fulfillment and drive our overall success. Yet, we don’t think about how to shape and tailor them to be most effective. In this interactive session, we will ask many questions about what matters to you in your relationships, and we will challenge you to intentionally design your most important working relationships to empower all parties, including those you want to invest in the most to thrive.

The Power of Vulnerability: Leadership that Helps Others Thrive
Brian Kush, Intend2Lead

After this session, you will better understand what it means to lead from a more vulnerable and authentic place. Brian will share why psychological safety is needed now more than ever, how you can model being vulnerable for others, and some specific practices you can bring back to your teams to create real connections that inspire more effective collaboration and belonging.

Capacity Expansion By Maximizing Advisory Services and Utilizing Offshoring
Bob Lewis and Doug Lewis, The Visionary Group

So many firms are at an inflection point. In this turbulent and evolving CPA profession, firms must look at how to continue to grow without being dependent on a shrinking pool of CPAs. This session will combine two capacity expansion techniques with a focus on creating or expanding advisory services that transition into a panel on offshoring.

Save the dates for 2024 NARM/World Congress.
