On 8th March, we connected over 100 AGN women professionals over two sessions to accommodate the time zones to mark International Women’s Day 2023.
With our members, we were able to celebrate this special day and support AGN’s commitment to embracing gender diversity in leadership teams to increase productivity and value in AGN firms.
Fifty members in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and Asia Pacific (AP) connected in the first session. Over 50 members in North America and Central & South America joined in the second.
Our AGN EMEA firm in London designated a space for their staff to experience the meeting together—thirty-four colleagues at BKL, including male “allies”, tuned in to the first of two one-hour presentations.
“The way we all came together to celebrate women and diversity on an international level and commit to making the world more equitable was inspiring. In BKL, I observed a ripple effect of further conversations on what support female leaders may need and that there is room to dig deeper and explore the impact of unconscious bias and beliefs.”
Petra Deters, Director of Outsourcing, BKL, London.
The AGN Women of Impact (WOI) group led the presentation, specifying how diversity is important in practice management and what equity means – connecting this year’s International Women’s Day theme, ‘Embrace Equity.’
The WOI informed members about AGN’s ongoing initiatives and the valuable tools and resources available to support diversity in the workplace. A discussion shed light on what AGN firms are doing globally to tackle this topic.
Participants also listened and voiced their thoughts to the questions; What are the challenges for women in the workplace? What can women do to help themselves? Is there a salary gap?
