Futurist Dimitri Dimitriadis captured the attention of delegates at the AGN World Congress 2022 in Athens, with his two-part session titled “Future is a human invention – Future Mindset and how to be futureproof. In this article, Dimitri explains what the Metaverse means for accounting professionals and how firms can enter the Metaverse.
Around 150 participants from all over the world gathered in Athens, Greece, to attend two packed days of colourful and informative plenary sessions and highly-interactive workshops. As befitting the conference theme of Heroes, the programme drew from Greek antiquity to the present, relating content to the business challenges we face today.
On Friday, November 11th, Lanigan Ryan moved into a new office space located in the vibrant and lively Rio Washingtonian Center. The move will accommodate a growing team and provide upgraded equipment and technology. The team expects the move to create greater opportunities to connect with friends of the firm, as well as facilitate team bonding activities.
The AGN global conference rolls into town, and with it, a rather special training programme for AGN members’ future partners – The Advanced Leadership & Practice Management Program – which has become known amongst those involved as ALPP.

In the U.S., October is recognized as Long-Term Care Planning and Financial Planning Month. These are great ‘excuses’ for AGN members to reach out to their clients and explore additional services that can be provided. AGN North America will use this month to give a post-busy season reboot to our educational content and member connections with the fall instances of Staff Training and the Fall Symposium. Forty-five years ago this month, four public accounting firms based in the U.S. decided to get together with the plan to form a collaboration and placed an ad in the September 1977 Journal of Accountancy seeking like-minded firms. This action was the first public announcement and beginning of “The Continental Association of CPA Firms” (CACPA) – the organization you now know as AGN. In the coming year, we will be celebrating this achievement with you. Keep an eye out for more details!
